100 Mile House RCMP responded to a fatal rollover on Horse Lake Road Wednesday night.

Sgt. Brian Lamb said RCMP received a report of a rollover on Horse Lake Road near McNolty Road just after 9:30 p.m. On arrival, he said officers, members of 100 Mile Fire Rescue and EHS located an early 2000s grey Chevrolet pickup truck overturned in the ditch.

“The male driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was not conscious,” Lamb said. “The male was extracted from the vehicle where life-saving efforts were attempted but ultimately the 54-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Lamb said that the man is not believed to have been from the 100 Mile House area and his next of kin have been notified. RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen his vehicle in the area of Horse Lake Road and Highway 24 to call them at 250-395-2456.

The causal factors of this collision remain under investigation with the BC Coroners Service assisting the RCMP.
